WATCH: First Range Test of the Civilian-Ready FN SCAR 20S Rifle

FN American has officially announced a civilian variant of the U.S. Military’s MK20 Sniper Support Rifle: the FN SCAR 20S.

I got my hands on the civilian variant a few weeks back and for some testing.

I used two loads for my initial testing—Hornady’s 155-grain American Gunner BTHPs and Black Hills’ 178-grain ELD-Xs—giving me a nice range of bullet weights. And I’ll cut to the chase and say that the rifle was extremely accurate with both loads.

Moving to 1,000 yards and dialing in the elevation, I managed to get eight hits out of 10 shots on a 16-by-12-inch steel target—as good as it gets for a .308 designed as a DMR or sniper support weapon.

Watch my official test in the video above. Also, be sure to check out my initial review.

Keep your eyes peeled for a complete review of the FN SCAR 20S in the February/March 2018 issue of Tactical Life Magazine. The issues goes on sale Dec. 11. Grab your copy at OutdoorGroupStore.com.
